Kirsebærallé på Gavnø Slot

This is where the feeling of spring begins

Nature wakes from its slumber

With its unique and magnificent nature, spring is something quite special in The South Coast of Denmark, because nowhere is spring enjoyed better than in the great outdoors. When Møn’s many beech trees bloom, or when the tulips explode in all the colours of the world in Gavnø Castle Park, magic is truly in the air. But spring is also a time of many cultural offerings, and this is when several of our seasonal attractions open once again. So there really are many good reasons to visit South Zealand and Møn when the light returns.

Below we have compiled a list of The South Coast of Denmark’s many spring-time experiences.

Spring’s most enjoyable experiences

Gavnø Castle

The beautiful Rococo castle of Gavnø in South Zealand offers a fairy-tale experience for all. Visit not only the castle, but also the park, the church, the brewery and the Go Fly courses.

Stevns Klint UNESCO World Heritage Centre

In South Zealand, the Stevns Klint cliffs tower 41 metres above sea level and are by far the area’s best beacon for tourism. You can see visible layers of fish clay in the cliffs, testifying to one of the worst disasters in the history of the Earth.

BonBon-Land

BonBon-Land is known by children and the young at heart all over the country, and with good reason! Approximately 60 rides have had their home in Holme-Olstrup in South Zealand for more than 27 years, and they are therefore part of many people’s childhood memories!

GeoCenter Møns Klint

Visitor’s centre, natural phenomena, active holidays and more – all for the price of one! The GeoCentre at Møns Klint offers entertainment and education for children and adults alike!

Stevnsfort Cold War Museum

The fort Stevnsfortet was located on the very frontline – Denmark and NATO’s secret element of defence during the Cold War. A story you may remember, but don’t really know! Visit the Cold War Museum in South Zealand.

The beautiful Rococo castle of Gavnø in South Zealand offers a fairy-tale experience for all. Visit not only the castle, but also the park, the church, the brewery and the Go Fly courses.

The Camøno – Denmark’s friendliest hiking trail

The Camøno, also called “the kingdom’s friendliest hiking trail”, extends for over 175 km across Møn, Bogø and Nyord. Along the way, you pass through the area’s most beautiful scenery, along breathtaking coastlines through cosy little villages and past several sights.

Hotel Frederiksminde

Hotel Frederiksminde has been carefully and stylishly restored and today appears in the original romantic style of the late 1800s, when the hotel was built. The kitchen has been awarded a Michelin star, and the view from the restaurant is sublime!
