Næstved is considered to be South Zealand’s largest trading town, both historically and currently. Today, the town offers considerable diversity with large green areas, a rich retail and business scene as well as a wide variety of history, art and culture.

A visit to Næstved is ideal for combining shopping, nature, culture and a wealth of activities for the whole family.

In the heart of Næstved is the town centre, which offers both historical and modern surroundings. Experience the town’s market days, charming speciality shops, cafés and restaurants as well as abundant art hidden in Næstved’s squares and on the buildings’ large gables.

If you take a closer look at the city, it is easy to see its medieval history. The names of two of the city’s most central squares – Axeltorv and Hjultorvet – are a reference to the squares’ former use, when farmers came into Næstved to sell their produce.
