Jydelejet Dark Sky Star spot

Experience the starry sky over the High Moon from the star-thinking bench. Here, the view opens to the east-northeast, where you can see the northern part of the Milky Way - or the core of the galaxy on an early spring morning. It takes approx. 10-15 minutes to get to Klinten from the parking lot. During the walk you will experience the open countryside and the rocky forest before reaching the free view of the Baltic Sea.If you follow the path to the left, you will reach the stairs leading down to the beach.Be aware of sleeping cows and goats when heading to Jydelejet.

The tightly packed starry sky over Møn and Nyord is unique. That is why Møn and Nyord were named as the Nordic region's first Dark Sky Park and Community. In a Dark Sky Park, the night darkness is protected from local light pollution, so you have the best and clearest view of the starry sky.

How to behave:

This star gazing spot is located on the state's land, which is part of the core areas of the Mon UNESCO biosphere as well as the Dark Sky park. It is our shared responsibility to preserve the unique and species-rich nature that gives us unique experiences. Everyone has the right to be in nature, but we must take animals, plants and other people into account.

In the areas owned by the state, special rules apply on how to behave in nature, especially at night. It is recommended to travel on roads and paths so that habitats for rare flora and habitats for animals and birds are not destroyed. In addition, quiet travel is recommended so that animals and birds are not disturbed. Always make sure you leave nothing but your footprints in nature.

To take best care of nature, we recommend that you park your car either at GeoCenter Møns Klint or Liselund Castle and walk from there.
