Natur ved Susåen Næstved

Here the autumn begins

When nature changes its colours

Autumn is a great time to experience The South Coast of Denmark, as the weather can still be mild and pleasant, and the attractions are less crowded. The nature of The South Coast of Denmark is welcoming all year round, but it is especially attractive in the autumn, when the leaves explode in golden colours. And if the weather becomes too harsh, there are also many indoor experiences in South Zealand and on Møn that you can visit during this season. And there are many special events – not least during the school holidays.

Below we have compiled a list of The South Coast of Denmark’s autumn-time experiences that are worth travelling for.

Autumn’s most beautiful experiences

Stevns Klint UNESCO World Heritage Centre

In South Zealand, the Stevns Klint cliffs tower 41 metres above sea level and are by far the area’s best beacon for tourism. You can see visible layers of fish clay in the cliffs, testifying to one of the worst disasters in the history of the Earth.

BonBon-Land is known by children and the young at heart all over the country, and with good reason! Approximately 60 rides have had their home in Holme-Olstrup in South Zealand for more than 27 years, and they are therefore part of many people’s childhood memories!

Møns Klint

Møns Klint is a very popular destination, and it’s easy to see why! The beautiful white cliffs that rise above the sea are something special – and not just on a Danish scale, but internationally as well.

Gavnø Castle

The beautiful Rococo castle of Gavnø in South Zealand offers a fairy-tale experience for all. Visit not only the castle, but also the park, the church, the brewery and the Go Fly courses.

The Danish Castle Centre

In the heart of Vordingborg is The Danish Castle Centre – a reminder of the medieval heyday in South Zealand – told in a new way.

Autumn holiday in The South Coast of Denmark

A cosy – and perhaps spooky! – autumn for the whole family in South Zealand and on Møn!

Dark Sky Møn and Nyord

Møn and Nyord have unique starry night skies with very little light pollution, which means that the sky is very dark, and it is therefore possible to see stars in their thousands.  Because the sky is unique and light pollution is so low, in 2017 Møn and Nyord were named the first Nordic Da...

Camp Adventure

The secret treasure of the forest: Camp Adventure In the middle of the forest, among the tall trees and birdsong, there is a clearing in the treetops where the sky peeks in. The sounds of the water from the river and the frogs that live around here join the birdsong. You are now at the c...
